Ten things to do in the Bay Area before summer ends

Foodstuff: On the road
The hottest culinary trend in the Bay Area the past few months has been the surge in the number and popularity of food trucks. We're not talking your traditional quick sandwich or taco here (although some trucks do sandwiches and tacos). We're talking real gourmet stuff whipped up in often fancy rigs. Eye's Quick Bite column has been monitoring the truck trend for a while, and two of regular Quick Bite reviewer Jason Bennert's South Bay faves are Sam's ChowderMobile and Louisiana Territory. The ChowderMobile is an offshoot of Sam's Chowder House in Half Moon Bay. Bennert was particularly fond of the truck's lobster rolls, which, he said in his review, are rarely done right on the West Coast. The truck makes regular stops throughout the Peninsula and comes at least twice a month to downtown San Jose. You can follow the ChowderMobile on Twitter.com/chowdermobile or online at www.samschowdermobile.com. Louisiana Territory - run by Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme, one of the South Bay's top caterers - is a regular in downtown and churns up a whole mess of good New Orleans food, notably some fine jambalaya and bread pudding. You can follow it on Twitter at LATCajunCookin, on Facebook at the Louisiana Territory's Cajun Cookin' or on the web at www.psrtpresents.com/lat/about.
